COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Humane Society of the Palouse will host the Paws and Pearls gala on Friday, Jan. 23 at the 1912 Center in Moscow — featuring dinner, auctions, dessert dash and a paddle raise to support lifesaving care for pets in Latah County.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts hosts a student short play festival starting tonight at 7:00 p.m. at The Forge Theater in Moscow. U of I students get free tickets while general admission is $5 and 15 student-produced plays will be presented.  Pullman Radio
  • The Innovia Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the 2026-27 school year for students among 20 counties in its service area — awards range from $500 to $4,000 and applications will be due by March 4.  Pullman Radio
  • This fall, WSU researchers in Pullman tested the aromas of six Christmas tree species using volunteer panelists to guide fir breeding for faster growth and better display + the study is part of a $7.4 million USDA-funded project to help growers meet buyer preferences.  Big Country News

  • WSU is preparing for the Potato Bowl on its Pullman campus with planned activities for students and local fans + officials expect sports competitions and community events with more details coming soon.  KXLY
