- ➤ A former fraternity house in Pullman is being turned into a family homeless shelter – officials say the project will offer safe, temporary housing for local families in need. KXLY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Lionel Hampton School of Music is hosting its annual Jazz Choirs Holiday Concert today at ICCU Arena from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The free event features high school musicians, university ensembles and faculty, and clear bag security screening is required. Pullman Radio
- ➤ M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust awarded a $65,000 grant to the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow on Dec. 10 for marketing, film screenings — and community events. The Trust also invested over $1.5 billion in nonprofits since 1975. Pullman Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Palouse Conservation District is hosting a virtual talk at 6:00 p.m. on managing noxious weeds + Scott Watson, Coordinator of the Whitman County Noxious Weed Control Board, will explain local invasive species and community strategies. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Washington Interscholastic Activities Association will vote on 35 amendments to its handbook, including an advisory measure limiting participation in girls' sports to students with a biological female designation. The proposals will be discussed at the Winter Coalition meeting on Jan. 26, and a final vote will occur in April. KXLY
- ➤ Eastern Washington women’s basketball edged Washington State 71 — 69 in a tightly contested game at Pullman today. KXLY
