EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Becky and Lynn Miner donated their nearly 100-acre tree farm (Casa Becca del Norté) to WSU Extension Forestry in early November, turning it into a living classroom for family forest stewardship and research. The property includes a log cabin and outbuildings for hands on learning events. Big Country News
- ➤ The Pullman School Board will review Bernie Druffel’s $125,000 bid for the old Johnson School and consider buying 30 acres near Sunnyside Hill (sold by the Quist Family) during its 6:30 p.m. meeting at the high school today. The decisions support additional school building needs. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ STA is reviewing a proposal to discontinue the Peaceful Valley bus route. Officials say more details will be shared as the review process continues. KXLY
- ➤ Services for seniors in Whitman County move from the Council on Aging in Colfax to new agencies after Aging & Long Term Care announced changes this week – MedStar handles transportation and Rural Resources Community Action takes on kinship programs and a helpline while a provider for meals is sought. - ➤ A road near the railway in Pullman is closed today for emergency work, and officials say repairs will continue until safety is restored. KXLY
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Vitalant urges eligible donors to schedule blood donation appointments this December as holiday travel reduces turnout and the need for lifesaving blood remains critical. A Pullman drive will be held at Jefferson Elementary School on Dec. 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., with donors eligible for rewards. KLEW
