COMMUNITY NEWS

  • United Way of Whitman County hosted the Warming Spirits event on November 7 to raise over $8,200 for holiday food support for local families. The Dessert Dash raised $4,108 that was fully matched by the Avista Foundation so funds provided dairy and protein for food pantries and gift cards for emergency shelter agencies.  Pullman Radio
  • The Idaho Foodbank will distribute free food boxes at the Latah County Fairgrounds in Moscow on November 24 — volunteers will start at 10:00 a.m. and continue until every box containing fresh produce, frozen meats, dairy and dry goods is handed out. The boxes are available for free with minimal documentation required.  Pullman Radio
  • Local volunteers in Pullman are cooking meals for people in need — the effort aims to provide essential food support to community members experiencing hardship.  KXLY
  • Local organizers announced holiday activities starting this weekend to bring festive events to residents in Pullman—events will include music, food, and crafts at various community centers with more details coming soon.  KXLY

  • Kenworthy Theater in Moscow is showing the new movie Train Dreams that includes scenes filmed in Tekoa along the Palouse — the film stars William H. Macy, Joel Edgerton, and Felicity Jones. The movie plays today at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  Pullman Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for Outcomes from The Chartis Center for Rural Health, marking its fifth recognition for quality and patient outcomes. The award spotlights rural hospitals in the top quartile nationally and coincides with National Rural Health Day.  Pullman Radio
