- ➤ Today, the Community Action Center in Pullman is hosting The Great Food Fight on the Palouse to rally local businesses and community members in a fundraiser addressing hunger. Business registration ends today while food donations will be accepted until December 10 and the event runs until December 12—aimed at boosting local awareness of available food resources. KLEW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Washington State Patrol will conduct emphasis patrols from November 20 to 30 on routes used by WSU students for Thanksgiving travel. Officers will check for speeding, distracted and impaired driving on State Routes 26+17 and Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass in Adams, Grant, and Kittitas counties. Pullman Radio
- ➤ The City of Pullman received a half a million dollar state grant for its planned Veterans Memorial Park, which must be built by the end of 2027—plans call for the park to be located next to the city cemetery on the town's south end and fundraising is led by American Legion Post 52 to cover the estimated 1.75 million dollar cost. - ➤ The City of Pullman will host a historic preservation workshop (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20) in the Freight Room at the Pullman Depot Heritage Center where property owners will learn to fill out forms to list their properties on the local Register of Historic Places using Rico’s building as an example.
