- ➤ Community Action Center launched the Great Food Fight on the Palouse on Nov. 12 to fight hunger during the holiday season. Local businesses and residents compete for food donations until Dec. 10 + the event is designed to bring local teams together. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ The Cougar Athletic Fund is hosting a free BBQ today at Beasley Coliseum from 6:00 to 8:00 during the WSU basketball doubleheader. The event welcomes everyone and takes place at the corner of Stadium Way and North Fairway Road (a central spot for game day fans). Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman businesses and CougFan have organized dads' weekend on the Palouse to bring back local deals this weekend as Washington State University hosts several home games. Local venues offer specials - from a BBQ pulled pork combo at Table Kitchen & Bar to golf contests at Airway Hills and bowling tournaments at Zeppoz - aiming to boost sales and fill the stands. - ➤ The Pullman Chamber of Commerce will host a conversation with SEL founder Dr. Ed Schweitzer and VP of Corporate Affairs Adina Bielenberg at its November General Membership Presentation on Tuesday, November 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Nuevo Vallarta—tickets cost $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members with reservations due by noon today. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The family of 19-year-old WSU student Luke Tyler, who died by suicide in January 2023, is suing the telehealth company Hims & Hers Health Inc—accusing it of targeting him with an Instagram ad and doubling his antidepressant dosage without proper oversight. They also blame the Theta Chi fraternity for hazing that they say pushed him over the edge. KXLY

- ➤ Pullman Public Schools is hosting a surplus sale today at 935 NW Olsen Street from 3:30—4:30 p.m. where the community can shop for books, desks, chairs and a school bus. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Washington State Patrol will step up emphasis patrols on State Routes 26 and 195, Interstate 90 and Snoqualmie Pass from November 20 to November 30 as many Washington State University students travel home for Thanksgiving. Motorists are urged to slow down — obey posted limits and prepare for winter conditions to prevent collisions. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ Pullman began its leaf collection program on Nov. 10 and will end Nov. 26; residents must rake leaves to the curb two days before their scheduled pick-up, avoid bagging them, and park off-street during collection days + the city warned that leaves in storm drains can cause flooding.
