  • Whitman United will host their annual Warming Spirits fundraiser today from 5:15 - 8:00 p.m. at Ensminger Pavilion to raise funds and awareness for local services supporting health, youth opportunities, and financial security.  Pullman Radio
  • Grant Park is adding a new mini soccer pitch to boost local recreation—officials say the project will give residents more play opportunities.  KXLY
  • Neill’s Flowers and Gifts invites Pullman locals to its Original Holiday Open House on November 9 from 11:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. where visitors can shop a 20% discount on giftware and enjoy holiday treats.  Pullman Radio
  • The Palouse Habitat for Humanity ReStore will hold a 50% off Veterans Day sale tomorrow from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm—everything will be 50% off except paint. This sale is set to honor Veterans Day and offer deep discounts on store items.  Pullman Radio
  • The Scouts will hold their annual food drive on Saturday in Pullman and Moscow from 9:00 to 2:00—donations will be collected at Safeway and Walmart in Pullman and at St. Mary’s Food Pantry on 1st Street and West Side Food Pantry on Pullman Road—serving local foodbanks.  Pullman Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Gabagool Charcuterie, a specialty culinary shop, will open Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at 185 South Grand Avenue next to Sims Glass providing charcuterie essentials and crafted takeout boxes plus pre-ordered platters and boards.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Washington State University researchers received a $2 million DARPA grant to develop ceramic materials that do not break easily — the two-year project led by Assistant Professor Arezoo Zare will mix aluminum with boron carbide using high heat to create materials that are strong and light for planes and cars.  Pullman Radio
  • Washington State University ended the Chinook Yearbook after the Board of Student Media voted with no objections because of big drops in sales, pickups, and ad money — other schools have also stopped yearbooks. Students who worked on the Chinook now will join a new summer tabloid called The Alley Cat for incoming students.  Pullman Radio
  • The Pullman School Board was named a 2025 Board of Distinction by the Washington State School Directors’ Association—recognizing its leadership in improving student outcomes.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sacred Heart Church in Pullman has partnered with Grocery Outlet to host a free spaghetti dinner—starting at 5:30 p.m. today—and the event will repeat each Friday for those impacted by the government shutdown.  Pullman Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • Marshawn Kneeland, 24, died in an apparent suicide — local officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.  KXLY
