- ➤ The Mimosa building on Main St., long abandoned after a 1996 flood closed Mimosa Cafe, received a $15,000 exterior renovation to ease local frustration—owner Nancy Swanger said the work was purely cosmetic since she bought the property mainly for its parking lot. The Daily Evergreen
- ➤ Today the Chamber of Commerce celebrates the renovation of the Telephone Exchange Building on Olsen Street, restored by David and Jenny Harder for Plateau CRM and empty since 1975, by hosting a free business after hours event from 5:00 to 7:00. The building earned an Outstanding Rehabilitation Award from the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Local schools may get new HVAC systems if funds from the school levy are approved. Officials say the upgrade will improve building comfort and energy efficiency—pending the vote. KXLY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Whitman County commissioners narrowly approved a deal on Monday to hire a consultant with Moscow to apply for federal funds for a planned truck route south of Pullman—aimed at removing about 250 trucks from downtown each day. Officials say the $19 million route, chosen after a lengthy study, will help ease freight traffic in both Pullman and Moscow. Pullman Radio
