- ➤ Palouse Habitat for Humanity is hiring a full-time Development Director to lead fundraising and donor engagement for affordable home building and expansion of its Home Repair program. The organization seeks a candidate with expertise to help build 3—4 homes per year and is now accepting applications. Pullman Radio
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife reported that an outbreak of hemorrhagic disease and bluetongue is impacting deer in eastern Washington, with Stevens and Spokane counties hit hardest. Residents who find sick or dead deer are urged to report sightings online—officials say the symptoms can lead to rapid health decline. KLEW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 strike that began on August 12 ended, and work on the $3.5 million project to repave 9 miles of U.S. Highway 195 near Pullman will resume — Poe Asphalt, hired by WSDOT, will extend the project into next spring. Pullman Radio
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Gritman Foundation will hold its annual Pink Tea and Pink Cocktail fundraiser on October 14 — at ICCU Arena in Moscow from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The event raises funds for local cancer care services and requires registration by October 1 with tickets at $50 per person or $350 per table. - ➤ Dr. John Keizur will host the Palouse Urology Center's 28th Annual Free Prostate Cancer Screening Clinic today from 8:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. Visitors can receive a free PSA test and an optional prostate exam without an appointment. Pullman Radio
