- ➤ Four juveniles faced assault charges after an egging incident at Beasley Coliseum on August 13—eggs thrown hit an individual—and the case was forwarded to the Whitman County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ Fritz Raymond Henn, 51, pleaded guilty on August 15 to brandishing a firearm outside Grumpy’s Tavern at 215 W. Main St. after witnesses said he pointed a pistol at a passing vehicle, and he was sentenced to a 5-month jail term—with 2.5 months remaining due to prior custody—and placed on one-year probation while being ordered to undergo further substance abuse treatment. - ➤ Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at approximately 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 to an attempted burglary at the Freedom Northwest Credit Union ATM on U.S. Highway 195—where a suspect driving a black Dodge Challenger tried to break in and fled south. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ Washington State University said a call for an active shooter on campus on Thursday morning was a hoax—WSU described the incident as swatting with no threat identified. KXLY
- ➤ A WSU teaching assistant, Patrick Mahoney, was convicted on Aug 21 for assaulting fellow student Jay Sani during a politically motivated attack in College Hill and received a sentence of one week in jail and one year of probation. Whitman County Gazette

- ➤ Pullman City Council is set to confirm Public Works Director Sean Wells as the new City Administrator tonight, and if approved he will start his role on Sep. 16.
