- ➤ Aly Heinrich, a Pullman woman and manager at Washington State University, will compete in the Mrs. American pageant in Las Vegas next week after winning the title of Mrs. Washington American in Olympia in March—she is also a board member of the League of Women Voters and moved to Pullman in 2020 with her husband. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, students at the University of Idaho are moving into on-campus housing—fall semester begins Monday. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman schools are enforcing new cell phone restrictions to cut classroom distractions — the rules limit personal devices during school hours and will start next week. School officials expect the policy to help improve focus in classes. KXLY
- ➤ Washington State University researchers are recruiting volunteers to become cheddar cheese testers (eligible testers must be at least 18 and not allergic to dairy) and those selected will attend training sessions followed by monthly tastings for one year. Pullman Radio
