ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A wildfire near State Route 127 in Whitman County began at 11:30 a.m. on August 13 when a motorhome caught fire, burned 1,500 acres, and threatened six structures, which led to Level 2 evacuations for homes along the highway from east of Pinnewawa Road to the Snake River and Highway 26 — State Route 127 remains closed between Zaring Cut-Off Road and the Snake River.  KXLY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The National Lentil Fest is returning to Pullman and will feature local food stands, family activities, and events that celebrate lentils—attracting visitors to enjoy local flavors.  KXLY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On August 13, a wildfire burned 1,500 acres south of Dusty in Whitman County and threatened six structures, prompting level 2 evacuations along State Route 127 from the Snake River to Highway 26—fire officials said a motorhome caught fire on the highway and started the blaze.  KXLY
