ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 50-year-old woman, Sonia Leas, died in a car crash near Colfax at 4:30 p.m. on August 9 on Thorn Creek Road north of St. John—two other passengers received treatment for minor injuries—and the Whitman County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.  KXLY

CRIME NEWS

  • Police in Pullman are searching for an 11-year-old boy who went missing on August 10 — he was last seen riding a black and green bike on NE Hill around 1 p.m. and authorities urge anyone with information to call 509-334-0802.  KXLY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Whitman County Auditor’s Office counted 1,500 extra ballots from Tuesday’s primary that narrowed John Casselman’s lead over Karl Olsen for the Pullman City Council Ward 3 seat to 28 votes—while Cody Finch’s lead over Tucker Senter for County Commissioner grew to 91 votes. The Farmington Street levy still fails by a few votes and the auditor will run final ballots on August 19th with nearly 5,500 ballots counted so far.  Pullman Radio
