COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Pullman's Concerts in the Park returns today with country rock by Blue Highway at Reaney Park. The free show starts at 6:00 p.m.—bring blankets and chairs. Pullman Radio
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Volunteer firefighters quickly put out a small field fire at WSU’s Spillman Farm (Johnson Road) south of Pullman on Monday afternoon. The blaze burned about four acres of grain in test plots and may have been sparked by a combine during harvest while farmers and local officials helped contain it. Pullman Radio
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Farmers in Eastern Washington are fighting a potential federal ban on glyphosate— a weed killer they say keeps food prices low. They warn that banning it will force farmers to use more expensive alternatives— a move that could hurt both growers and consumers. KXLY
- ➤ USDA announced that Whitman and Latah counties are in a primary natural disaster area after a recent growing season drought — emergency loans will help farmers replace livestock, equipment, or refinance debts. Applications for the loans are due March 16, 2026. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Traffic delays have slowed traffic to the airport due to a city project that installs a new water main on Airport Drive—flaggers are directing one lane of traffic and work is slated to continue until September—causing longer travel times for drivers. Pullman Radio
- ➤ A special filing period for unfilled local taxing district seats in Whitman County starts today and runs through Friday at 4:30 p.m. Candidates are needed in areas including Garfield, Tekoa and Colfax—filing is done in person at the auditor’s office in the courthouse in Colfax. Pullman Radio
