- ➤ Palouse Habitat for Humanity has welcomed three new board members, Aimee Hennrich, Chrisi Kincaid and Travis Morscheck, who hold strong community ties and a passion for the organization’s mission. Board President Rebecca Nida said they will help expand the group’s work to provide safe and affordable housing to more local families. Pullman Radio
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Volunteer firefighters extinguished a field fire west of Pullman Monday afternoon along Long Hollow Road that burned about 30 acres of fields and damaged an abandoned home and outbuildings—a firefighting helicopter helped control the blaze and there is no word on what sparked the fire while harvest continues in the area. - ➤ JJ’s Garage opens today at 247 South Grand Avenue in Pullman—this new shop offers motorcycle, powersports and automotive repairs and will kick off its opening with a motorcycle ride out to Kamiak Butte at 5:00 p.m.—it will operate Tuesday through Saturday. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Washington State University writing professor Buddy Levy returned to the History Channel to lend his expertise on two shows—The UnXplained with William Shatner and History’s Greatest Mysteries where he discussed his book River of Darkness and secret societies Yale University’s Skull and Bones and the Bohemian Grove. - ➤ Pullman's new fire chief, Brian Nash, resigned after five months on the job effective August 1 — city spokeswoman Meghan Ferrin said Mayor Francis Benjamin will meet with city leaders soon to plan his replacement. Nash, who took over in February from longtime chief Mike Heston, came from Henderson, Nevada. Pullman Radio
