- ➤ WSU police warned that people using sticks to poke the bears at the Bear Center on campus risk a Class C felony as interfering with these research animals can lead to up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and they said security cameras will record and report any suspicious behavior. KXLY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Aly Heinrich, a Pullman resident, was crowned Mrs. Washington American 2025 on March 22 in Olympia—competing as Mrs. Palouse—and will travel to Las Vegas in August to vie for the national title while promoting her voter engagement platform with the League of Women Voters. Big Country News
- ➤ Television veteran Jean Bruce Scott returns from retirement to star in Driving Miss Daisy at Forge Theater in Moscow — the play spans 25 years and tackles issues of racism and civil rights. The production will have nine shows starting with a preview on Thursday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m., with free tickets for U of I students and public tickets priced from $6 to $26. Big Country News
