CRIME NEWS

  • Benjamin Rinehart, a 45-year-old Pullman man suspected of slashing dozens of tires on College Hill last winter, was convicted by a Whitman County Superior Court jury on Tuesday for felony vandalism + 2nd degree malicious mischief and will be sentenced on Friday + after being arrested by Pullman Police in January for slashing tires captured on surveillance footage.  Pullman Radio

CULTURE NEWS

  • Soulstice will perform Music on Main today from 6:00 to 8:00 at Pine Street Plaza — the free outdoor summer concert series continues downtown for local residents.  Pullman Radio
  • The University of Idaho is showing 'The Lego Movie' under the stars today at Theophilus Tower Lawn as part of its Screen on the Green summer series, with seating opening at 7:30 p.m. and the film beginning around 8:30 p.m.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The demolition of Heald Hall at WSU will start in April 2026 to clear space for the new Integrated Sciences Building — after WSU Regents approved a $25 million state-funded project on College Avenue with site preparation continuing into June 2027. Regents also approved a design for a new Dodgen Hot Cell Facility at the Dodgen Nuclear Science Center — along with a small commercial anaerobic digester for Knott Dairy Farm southwest of Pullman.  Pullman Radio
  • A new Montessori school opened today in Pullman and will offer early learning options for young children. School officials said they will share enrollment and program details soon.  KXLY
  • State education officials have updated discipline guidelines for WA schools to promote fair and consistent treatment of students — the revised policy will be reviewed by local school boards and is set to go into effect soon.  KXLY

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Downtown Pullman's Etsi Bravo will host a special dance party called Matinee Madness on Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 — DJ Grant Ekdahl will provide the music for the event, and there is no cover charge with an age requirement of 21 or older.  Pullman Radio
