  • Caritas food bank increased its capacity to help more local residents get food — officials say the new expansion boosts storage and processing of donations to meet rising demand.  KXLY
  • Construction has started on a popular Pullman path and work will improve safe access for walkers and bikers. Local officials say the project will finish later this summer + it is expected to ease traffic on nearby streets.  KXLY
  • The Idaho Foodbank will hold a food distribution at the Latah County Fairgrounds on June 23 starting at 10:00 a.m.—it will offer free fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen meats, dairy and dry goods with minimal documentation requirements until the last box is given out.  Pullman Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • A DoorDash driver claims she saw murder suspect Bryan Kohberger near the King Road home before four University students were killed during a delivery in Pullman—she made her statement while being questioned at a holding facility for an unrelated DUI arrest and trial arguments over a potential delay set for August 11 were heard this week.  KXLY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Taste of Asia festival will take place this weekend in Pullman and is expected to offer a variety of Asian cuisines and live cultural performances + local organizers have planned family-friendly activities.  KXLY

HEALTH NEWS

  • A recent report shows that teen e-cigarette use has fallen in Pullman, and local health officials will track the trend to help guide youth prevention efforts. Officials believe this drop may lower future health risks for young people.  KXLY
