ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Homeowners in Pullman are taking steps to prepare for the upcoming fire season — local fire officials advise residents to clear brush and secure their properties to reduce risk.  KXLY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Pullman will receive $113,000 from Chevron for cleaning up contaminated soil at the old gas station site, now operating as a Conoco station at Main & Paradise Streets. City Council members will accept the settlement Tuesday night & review next steps for downtown reconstruction.  Pullman Radio
  • This summer, Whitman County Fire District 14 expanded the burn ban along the Snake River in Southern Whitman County to cover the Snake River Canyon between the breaks and Wawawai Road from Wawawai Landing to the state line. The ban will run from June 10th to October 10th—adding to the Army Corps of Engineers’ existing burn ban along the river.  Pullman Radio
