GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Stadium Way at WSU will be closed for repaving Monday through Friday next week — commuters should plan alternate routes during the work. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Washington State Department of Commerce announced on Friday that rent hikes will be capped at 10% until the end of 2025 under House Bill 1217 (which also sets a 5% cap for mobile home lots and limits increases to 7% plus the consumer price index). The department will release updated rent cap details for 2026 this summer based on new federal inflation data. Big Country News
- ➤ The Pullman Fire Department warns that burning cottonwood fluff can start fires that may spread to nearby structures (including the College Hill neighborhood) and advises residents to wet, rake, and safely throw the fluff away (to reduce fire risks). KXLY
