COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Larry Dahlberg, the singing mailman, will perform a benefit concert today at the Gladish Community Center in Pullman from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.—all proceeds support the Save the Gladish campaign. Pullman Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Pullman man accidentally fired a live round while practicing with inert training rounds in his College Hill apartment on Tuesday afternoon—officers said the bullet hit an interior wall and the foundation, and he was ticketed for discharging a dangerous weapon. Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At Wednesday night's meeting, the Pullman School Board debated the need for an assistant superintendent and approved hiring West Valley principal Ryan Mulvey by a 3+1 vote. The board also approved a 2.5% voluntary pay cut for Superintendent Dr. Bob Maxwell whose contract was extended through 2028. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman High School Athletics and Activities Director Wendy Kruger released a statement after her role was cut due to a budget shortfall—her duties were reassigned to the new assistant principal. Many local residents strongly opposed the board’s tied vote that led to the decision. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Miscommunication on plans for a new highway junction in north Colfax delayed the $13 million project for the U.S. Highway 195 and State Route 26 interchange, which was set to start in October but is now scheduled for 2029. Local Representative Joe Schmick raised concerns that the detour would hurt downtown businesses — WSDOT plans to meet with local business leaders soon to address these issues. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Washington State University College of Nursing launched a program to boost rural health services by letting nursing students train in their hometown settings—funded by a $100,000 Department of Health grant for three and a half years.
