CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Washington State University student was convicted of rape in Whitman County Court for an incident in November 2024 where a female student said she was raped while intoxicated at a party (he now faces six to twelve months in jail, must register as a sex offender and comply with a protection order). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Franklin Elementary PTA is hosting its annual RoCCC-A-Thon fundraiser to help pay for classroom supplies and support teachers and staff—donations will be accepted until May 30 with cash or check drop-offs at the school. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ FEMA is asking Pullman residents to share their comments on the proposed flood hazard maps for Whitman County by August 20. The City of Pullman requests objections by August 13—staff will review all input before sending it to FEMA. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman saw several construction projects affect traffic this week. Waterline work between NE Terre View Drive and the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, fiber installation in the Sunrise Terrace Addition, repairs at Sunnyside Park, and a sewer fix on NE Cove Way began Tuesday while tree trimming on Spring Street and Whitman Street started today—WSU paving on Stadium Way will cause detours from June 2 to June 6.
