- ➤ Pullman's Paddock Spirits said its award-winning Strawberry Red Apple is up for the world’s best vodka based canned cocktail award during the Top Shelf Gala this fall (the drink won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and claimed the world crown last year). Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Governor Bob Ferguson approved Alyssa's Law requiring Washington schools to upgrade security by the end of the school year with new measures such as working with law enforcement and installing safety devices (panic buttons, live video feeds, or remote-controlled doors). Moses Lake and Spokane Public Schools have already met these requirements, and all schools will report their progress in October and December. KXLY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Washington Gov Bob Ferguson signed a new law on Tuesday that requires gun buyers to get a permit by paying a fee and finishing a safety training course, and the permit system will start on May 1, 2027—supporters believe it will reduce gun violence while critics say it may conflict with constitutional rights.
