- ➤ The Community Band of the Palouse hosts a free Spring Concert today at Pullman High School at 7:00 pm—musicians from around the area perform for all ages. Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Pullman School District named finalists for assistant superintendent as Ryan Mulvey (from West Valley High School in Spokane) and Mike Roberts (from Moscow Middle School) will meet the public today from 4:45 to 5:30 at the district office on Dexter Street at Pioneer Hill. Two previous finalists removed themselves from consideration this spring. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Washington’s Discover Pass will cost $45 instead of $30 starting in October after Governor Ferguson signed a law on May 17 to boost funding for state parks—this change comes as pass revenue is set to cover about 71% of park funding in the next biennium. KXLY
- ➤ WalletHub’s study showed Washington ranked 50th out of 51 states for military retirees based on factors like economic environment, quality of life and health care for veterans — low numbers of VA facilities and veteran-owned businesses lowered its score — raising concerns for military retirees in the region. - ➤ Today, construction work begins in downtown Pullman as Ziply Fiber starts work near Autumn Street and State Street—flaggers and traffic control will slow drivers, so extra time is advised. KXLY
