COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Neill Public Library in Pullman will host a free Community Book Swap on Saturday, May 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Attendees may bring gently used books plus trade them with neighbors. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman Market on Main will move outdoors starting Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Kamiaken and Olsen Streets downtown and will run every Saturday through October. Pullman Radio
- ➤ The Garfield community will celebrate May Day tomorrow with breakfast at the school (5:00-7:00), a fun run at 8:00, a parade at 11:00, and a car show plus hot dog eating contest at noon in Garfield. Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Tony Havens, a longtime Sacajawea Middle School teacher and LC State alumnus, was named the 2026 Outstanding Teacher Educator by LC State's Teacher Education and Mathematics Division in Lewiston on Friday, May 8 — the honor recognizes his commitment to engaging teaching methods. - ➤ Isabella Huntley will serve as one of four co-valedictorians at Colfax High on June 6—continuing a legacy that began when her great-grandmother was valedictorian in 1911—with her family watching as she prepares to depart for Baylor medical school. Whitman County Gazette
