- ➤ Live music will fill Reaney Park this summer as Pullman launches its free Concerts in the Park series from July to August. Concerts run from 6 p.m.—8 p.m. on July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13, featuring bands that play country, rock, folk, R&B, blues, reggae, pop, and Latin rock. KXLY
- ➤ The Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation Women’s Leadership Guild is hosting today at 6:00 p.m. the Girlfriends Gather event at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center at WSU to raise funds for local nonprofits—attendees with a $100 donation nominate an eligible organization to receive a portion of the $10,000 goal aimed at supporting women’s and children’s health and wellness in nearby counties. - ➤ Whitman Recovery Community Center in Pullman will open its new location at 226 E. Main next to Neill’s Coffee and Ice Cream on Saturday, May 31. The grand opening will run from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and feature games, raffle prizes, music, ice cream and coffee (weekday hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. will be available until then). Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Pullman High School Drama Club invites the community to see their final season show as they perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The play is offered today at 7:00 p.m., with additional shows on May 16 and 17 and a Saturday 2:00 p.m. matinee at the school auditorium; tickets cost $5 for students and $10 for adults. - ➤ The Whitman County Regional SWAT Team is conducting training drills on the WSU campus today from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies — Pullman and WSU Police operating at various campus locations, and officials say the heavy presence is only a drill. Pullman Radio
