COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ WSU Football Coach Jimmy Rogers will speak at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce general membership presentation at the Gladish on May 13 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with lunch provided by Zoe Coffee & Kitchen and tickets costing $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers; reservations are required by today. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Kamiak Butte County Park north of Pullman will be closed on Monday and Tuesday next week—construction work to replace its water system leaves the park without water and the campground closed. Officials said the park might close again later this spring for further repairs. Pullman Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Izzy Alexander Miranda, a 14-year-old from Pullman, was sentenced by Judge Roger Sandberg on May 1 to 30 days in juvenile detention — he will also serve one year probation and complete 100 hours of community service after being found guilty of felony harassment for allegedly planning to threaten a Pullman High School teacher and bomb the school with another teen. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A free showing of The Lion King will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the historic Cordova Theater in downtown Pullman (hosted by Promote Pullman and Pullman Foursquare Church). Pullman Radio
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Pullman High School Choir is inviting the community to its annual rock show—free to attend—at the Pullman High School Auditorium, with performances starting today and continuing on May 10 at 7:00 p.m. Pullman Radio
- ➤ About 2,000 high school FFA students in blue jackets are gathering in Pullman for the 95th Washington FFA State Convention at Washington State University. The expo started Thursday and will run through Saturday & features educational exhibits for students statewide. Pullman Radio
