COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Annual Chipman & Taylor Car Show returns this weekend at the Chevrolet dealership on Bishop Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with this year’s event dedicated as a tribute to Tom Taylor.  Pullman Radio
  • Volunteers extinguished a small wildland fire west of Pullman Thursday morning as Whitman County Fire District 12 and D14 from Colton-Uniontown responded around 9:30 on Boone Hill (Wawawai-Pullman Road). D12 Chief Lester Erwin advised residents to contact him before burning this spring.  Pullman Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Pullman residents are facing rising gas prices today as local stations report sharp increases. The higher costs may affect household budgets and daily commutes.  KXLY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Mike Morgan, a longtime music teacher in Colfax schools, is retiring after 34 years and will have his final concert on Monday, May 11 at Colfax High School Auditorium. He will continue teaching until June 6 as he and his wife plan to travel with their grandchildren.  Whitman County Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The House passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act on April 30 and it now moves to the Senate. The bill includes Congressman Baumgartner’s amendment — focusing on the Columbia Basin Project to provide conservation funds for Eastern Washington’s water challenges.  Whitman County Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • The LaCrosse EMS/Whitman County Fire District #8 received a new 2026 Ford Ambulance built by Braun Northwest in Chehalis to replace its 20-year-old rig for emergency operations.  Whitman County Gazette
