- ➤ The Garfield community lunch takes place today at noon at Garfield Legion Hall where a chicken fried steak with gravy meal is served for three dollars and everyone is welcome. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Marie Dymkoski is stepping down as Pullman Chamber of Commerce Executive Director on June 30th after 14 years on the job — she will move to a special advisory role during the transition. Tourism and Promotions Manager Alexis Foran is now the Interim Executive Director — the chamber will begin searching for a permanent leader soon. Pullman Radio
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Pullman Police forwarded a case of a December stabbing to Whitman County Prosecutor Denis Tracy, who dismissed charges against a 19-year-old suspect after he allegedly stabbed a 34-year-old man with scissors during an altercation over a cat at an abandoned seed plant north of the Mobil gas station on North Grand Avenue—Tracy said he could not prove the suspect did not act in self-defense. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A musical tribute concert will honor Dan Maher tonight at the Unitarian Church in Moscow where eight acts perform from 6:00 to 9:00 as a free event. Maher, who hosted a public radio folk music show for over 40 years and now fights stage 4 liver cancer, is being celebrated — a GoFundMe campaign has been started to help with his medical bills — as the community supports his legacy. - ➤ Washington farmers are bracing for revenue loss as new Chinese tariffs on U.S. products will cut exports and raise equipment costs—according to the Washington Department of Agriculture. Local farms are expected to face declining export earnings and uncertainty over future pricing—intensifying challenges from past trade battles. KXLY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ WSU reported three international students had their visas revoked Friday, April 11th—one had graduated while the other two remained enrolled as the university worked with each student to find available options amid nationwide enforcement trends. KLEW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A broken water pipe on Lamont Street between Yates and Larry caused residents to notice discolored tap water on Wednesday — crews fixed the leak and advised flushing pipes and using cold water until the water returns to its normal color. KXLY
- ➤ On April 11, the Washington Legislature passed Senate Bill 5375—making clergy mandatory reporters of suspected child abuse without a confession exemption—and now the bill goes to Gov Bob Ferguson for his signature. KXLY
- ➤ Today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced new limits for crossing Lower Granite Dam that allow northbound vehicles only at the top and southbound vehicles only at the bottom of each hour from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drivers leaving the Illia Dunes must cross by 4:00 p.m.—if missed, they face a two-hour drive back to Pullman through Pomeroy.
