COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Montessori School of Pullman will host a free Spring Festival today at 5:00 p.m. at 240 SE Dexter Street, featuring spring crafts, treats & face painting, dress-up, photos, a silent auction, games, and story time led by guest Ms. Else from Neill Public Library.  Pullman Radio
  • Palouse Habitat for Humanity has named Doug Kenyon the 2026 Habitat Hero Award recipient. He will be honored at the annual Beans 'n' Jeans fundraiser dinner on Saturday, Apr. 18 at the SEL Event Center in Pullman; community members can also stop by Moscow Pullman Building Supply to congratulate him.  Pullman Radio

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Heavy flash flooding from Sunday thunderstorms damaged rural roads around Colfax, and Green Hollow Road north and Upper Union Flat Road south were closed; Whitman County Public Works is assessing the damage and officials urge cautious driving + watching for hidden debris.  Pullman Radio
  • A home in Genesee was destroyed Sunday morning on Fir Street — volunteer and Moscow firefighters fought the blaze until early afternoon — and no one was injured.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Port of Whitman County received an Early Learning Facilities Program grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce to fund design work for a potential childcare facility planned next to Colfax Junior-Senior High School. Cleanup of historical contamination is required before design work will be completed by summer.  Pullman Radio

HEALTH NEWS

  • An IT outage shut down Pullman Regional Hospital phones and medical records system starting Friday morning, and officials say the systems are being restored today. Hospital representatives confirmed no cybersecurity breach compromised patient data.  Pullman Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • WSU extended its win streak by defeating Portland + the game showcased strong effort from the team as it built on earlier successes.  KXLY
  • Former Coug Carlisse Leger-Walker was drafted by Sun and will join the team next season — a milestone for local athletes.  KXLY
  • Cougs Men's Basketball announced its first transfer as the team adds a new player to boost its lineup ahead of upcoming contests.  KXLY
