- ➤ Donors gave more than $1.28 million during University of Idaho's Vandal Giving Day on April 1 and 2 — a record that beat last year’s total by nearly $153,000 and pushed the Brave. Bold. Unstoppable. campaign past its $500 million goal — with gifts increasing from 2,324 to 2,411. Big Country News
- ➤ WSU Symphonic Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform their final concert of the school year today at 7:30 p.m. at Bryan Hall—featuring works by Samuel Hazo, Omar Thomas, Mark Camphouse and Anthony Barfield. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Pullman City Council confirmed permanent police chief Aaron Breshears—nominated by Mayor Francis Benjamin—on Tuesday. He will be sworn in today at 3:30 p.m. at city hall, replacing Jake Opgenorth who resigned two weeks ago. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Most Pullman City Council members support new rules that would allow short term rentals up to a duplex and require a business license, emergency evacuation plans, and annual permits. The planning commission spent nearly two years drafting the rules, and council will review the zoning code update on May 13. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Steelhead Americas, the developer of Harvest Hills wind farm near Kamiak Butte, said they may move project oversight to the state after local opponents physically threatened landowners and supporters at a planning meeting in Colfax. Whitman County commissioners plan to add security + hold more meetings as they update wind farm rules. Pullman Radio
