COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Pullman is the only city in Washington named one of 40 finalists in Parade Magazine's America’s Favorite Small Towns competition as community votes began Feb. 28. The city will be featured in the May issue while winners will be announced on June 1 and 12.  Pullman Radio
  • The Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott in Pullman is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for kids ages 1-12 — the Easter Bunny will be in attendance and the hotel Bistro will serve lunch until 2:00 p.m.  Pullman Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Capy Hour Cafe opened today in Pullman and welcomes locals with its signature drink menu + a relaxed vibe. The new space offers a cozy spot for community gatherings.  KXLY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A portion of Bishop Boulevard will be closed to thru traffic from mid-May to mid-August for repaving, with local traffic allowed in the work zone. A public meeting about the project is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday at Pullman City Hall.  Pullman Radio
  • A local board approved a ballroom project, but a judge later denied the plan & left organizers to address the setback with a view toward next steps.  KXLY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Gritman Electronic Systems will be back online on Monday, Apr. 6 after a computer problem closed some offices this week; QuickCARE reopened Friday and stayed open Saturday but will close Sunday for Easter *no patient data was lost*.  Big Country News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The WSU football team is preparing for spring practice in Spokane. The team will begin drills this spring to build readiness for the upcoming season.  KXLY
  • WSU baseball beat San Jose State in a home game, with strong pitching & teamwork boosting the Cougars as they advance in the season.  KXLY
  • WSU athlete Ace Glass has entered the transfer portal, a move that leaves his future with the team uncertain. University officials will monitor the process as his transfer options develop.  KXLY
  • The Indians have welcomed a new manager who will lead the team in the 2026 season. The announcement came during a local press event and is expected to boost the squad's performance.  KXLY
