COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A fundraiser will be held in Garfield Saturday night to raise money for repairs to the food pantry damaged in last month’s flood—concert and dinner will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Garfield School.  Pullman Radio
  • A gofundme page has been started to help pay medical bills for local folk music legend Dan Maher. He had a heart attack in January and was later diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, and a tribute concert will be held on April 17th (at the Unitarian Church in Moscow) to honor his over 40 years on public radio.  Pullman Radio

CRIME NEWS

  • Moscow Police arrested 43-year-old Kenneth Indish on Wednesday night after responding to a report of gunfire—he allegedly fired a shotgun in the air on Lincoln Street and was later found with several knives while reportedly threatening to kill his girlfriend.  Pullman Radio
  • A Pullman woman, Tiffany Dennison, 31, charged in connection with a Sept. 9 stabbing in College Hill was found not guilty by reason of insanity on March 20 and was committed to Eastern State Hospital—doctors will review her treatment every six months.  Whitman County Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Pullman Distinguished Young Women scholarship program will take place Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the high school. The winner will advance to the state program this summer in Pullman.  Pullman Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Washington State University Sport Management Capstone class will host a Pickleball tournament in Pullman on March 30 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Pullman Parks & Rec Center to raise funds for the Pullman Downtown Association and Pullman Parks and Recreation. The event will offer both competitive and casual brackets (open to all players) to welcome participants of every skill level.  Pullman Radio
