COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Volunteers are working on Highway 95 today to remove litter and improve safety for local drivers. The cleanup effort brings community members together to help maintain smoother, safer travel.  KXLY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Pullman High School girls bowling team won the academic state title for winter season in a WIAA competition on Wednesday, Mar. 25. The team finished with a 3.95 GPA in the 2A classification.  Pullman Radio
  • WSU bears are testing bear-resistant camping equipment at the Bear Research, Education and Conservation Center in Pullman; the tests require 60 minutes of effort and help companies qualify for the Bear-Resistant Products List while enriching the bears.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Traffic signal upgrades at South Grand and Bishop were finished ahead of schedule on Tuesday, and crews began work at South Grand and Crestview (near the Wysup car dealership) which is causing delays. The city is upgrading traffic lights this spring.  Pullman Radio
  • Local lawmakers are considering a new law (aimed at reducing violence against referees) to set clearer penalties for aggressive acts during sports events. More details on its enforcement are expected soon.  KXLY

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Palouse Mental Health Walk is set for Saturday, April 11 at Friendship Square in Moscow (10 a.m. rally, 11:30 a.m. costume contest, and 12:30 p.m. walk/race) to support local mental health services.  KLEW

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • WSU architecture students present design ideas for new accessory homes inside city hall from 5:30 to 7:30 today. The proposals for detached dwelling units will soon be available for purchase.  Pullman Radio
