EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Oakesdale High School girls basketball team won the academic state title for the 1B classification on March 17 with a team GPA of nearly 3.9—finishing 4th at the state tournament. Pullman Radio
- ➤ HettyLee Laughary won the Garfield-Palouse Distinguished Young Women scholarship program on March 17. She will head to the Washington state program in Pullman this summer. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Pullman Public Schools Board and district administrators will host a community listening session at Lincoln Middle School on March 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A presentation will share key insights on the district’s budget and priorities and enable residents to provide feedback via survey questions before an open board work session begins. Pullman Radio
- ➤ Hannah Mortensen won the Potlatch Distinguished Young Women scholarship program Saturday night—she advances to the state program this fall. Pullman Radio
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Pullman library officials are exploring an 8.4 million dollar plan to remodel and expand the library by 3,500 square feet—addressing the broken HVAC system, leaking roof, and increased use that include a 62% rise in program attendance since 2019. The Neill Public Library Board will discuss the proposal at a meeting Wednesday at 3:00. Pullman Radio
