- ➤ Rosauers donated food to help feed kids in Pullman, and a local nonprofit will distribute the donation to support families later this week + more details on community events are expected soon. KXLY
- ➤ The Ladies Aid is hosting a Leap into Spring sale on Saturday, March 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Garfield Christian Fellowship in Garfield, featuring chicken + homemade noodles, baked goods, and handmade crafts along with a $3 fill-a-bag yard sale. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Vendor registration for the National Lentil Festival is open at Reaney Park for the event scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22. Agreements and payment instructions will be sent starting Monday, Mar. 30 with a priority vendor deadline of May 1 + interested vendors must register online to secure a spot. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ Eight girls will compete for the Colfax Distinguished Young Woman title in the country-western pageant Where Grit Meets Grace tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Colfax High School auditorium (1110 N. Morton St.), and organizers say tickets are selling fast. Whitman County Gazette

- ➤ Port of Whitman County was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Washington State Microenterprise Association to boost business training and technical assistance for local small businesses. The Colfax Chamber, Colfax Downtown Association, and SBDC will host sessions in spring 2026 — support designed for startups with limited credit access. Pullman Radio

- ➤ WSU Provost T. Chris Riley-Tillman met with the Faculty Senate on Thursday to discuss a one-time $20 million boost for athletics. He said details will be revealed when regents approve the May fiscal year budget and no programs will be cut. Pullman Radio

- ➤ On March 7, the Neah Bay Red Devils beat Garfield-Palouse 54 to 41 to clinch their fourth straight 1B state championship, and Vikings coach Garrett Parrish praised his team's gritty effort despite finishing second (noting one of their best seasons). Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ Colfax boys basketball won the state championship on March 7 and dedicated their win to Coach Reece Jenkin, who passed away on Feb. 27. The undefeated team celebrated their hard-fought victory near Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Whitman County Gazette
- ➤ The children of late Colfax High School coach Reece Jenkin earned state player of the week awards after his passing; his daughter scored 41 points in the tournament opening round and his son led his team to a state championship win in Spokane. Pullman Radio
