CULTURE NEWS

  • The University of Idaho Theatre Arts debuts the darkly comedic musical Ride the Cyclone today at 7:30 p.m. at the Forge Theater in Moscow — additional shows run Feb. 27-28, March 1, and March 6-8, with tickets from $6 to $26 available online.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust awarded nearly $350,000 to WSU researchers on Feb. 25 to purchase agricultural waste drying equipment (a fall grant award) and has donated over $1.5 billion to nonprofits in the Northwest since 1975.  Pullman Radio

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Palouse Conservation District invites local farmers + ranchers to a free Soil Health Breakfast on Wednesday, March 4 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at The Center in Colfax; featured speaker Neil Appel will share insights on regenerative agriculture and no-till practices.  Pullman Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials announced plans to renovate a building into a dedicated veteran services center soon. The new space will offer programs and support for veterans in the community (details on the schedule are forthcoming).  KXLY
  • The Washington House and Senate propose smaller cuts for WSU than Governor Ferguson's plan—the senate calls for a $1.4 million reduction and the house a $2.6 million cut, less than 1% of WSU’s funds. Floor votes this week will begin negotiations before the session ends March 12.  Pullman Radio

SPORTS NEWS

  • WSU hoops lost a tight game to LMU 67-66 yesterday at their Pullman arena, leaving players eager to bounce back in their next contest.  KXLY
  • The LCVBC U16 National Team earned a silver medal last week at the Festival Fiesta Classic in Phoenix after competing in 19 sets against 95 teams. The local team, made up of nine players from the region, now continues its 2025–2026 season with strong momentum.  Big Country News
