COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Retired WSU Police Captain Mike Kenny, injured in the 1979 bombing at Perhman Hall, died last Thursday, as reported on the WSU Police Facebook page & remembered for over three decades of service.  Pullman Radio

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Pullman's economy dropped over 7% in Q3 2025 — retail sales fell more than 8% and revenue declined by over $14 million — according to the Washington Department of Revenue, with only nearby Columbia County recording a larger percentage drop.  Pullman Radio

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local school officials proposed a bond and levy to boost funding for teachers and building upgrades. The proposal will be discussed at a board meeting soon (meeting details are pending).  KXLY
  • Local parents in Pullman are voicing concern over proposed child care funding cuts as officials review budget options, fearing reduced access to quality care for children.  KXLY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is hiring seasonal employees for trail maintenance, visitor services, and range technician roles for the upcoming recreation season. Forest Supervisor Jon Word said the positions will offer hands-on experience for local residents and help keep campgrounds and trails safe.  Pullman Radio
  • Steptoe Butte Summit Road is open for traffic today—local officials confirmed that safety checks have been completed, allowing drivers to use the route normally.  KXLY

  • The University team beat Central Valley by a score of 72-65 in a local game, showing strong performance and keeping their season on track.  KXLY
