- ➤ The Latah County Historical Society will host a Volunteer Appreciation event on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 3-5 p.m. at the 1912 Center’s Lecompte Auditorium at 412 East 3rd St in Moscow to honor volunteers and review plans for 2026 and beyond. - ➤ United Way of Whitman County and Banner Bank are hosting a screening of 9 to 5 to celebrate Dolly Parton’s 80th birthday on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow (tickets cost $15 with proceeds benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Latah and Whitman counties). - ➤ Libey Gallery opens 'Palouse on the Pallet' today, featuring regional artist John Orfe's art until Mar. 31 and a free Meet the Artist reception is set for Feb. 20 (5:00-6:30 p.m.) to let visitors learn his creative process. Pullman Radio

- ➤ Aaron Esser from Washington State University Extension office in Ritzville said winter wheat looks promising after moisture beneficially impacted crops from September to December; however, sub-zero temperatures and snow are expected later this winter. Whitman County Gazette
